FICA Wage Change Effective as of January 1, 2011! The Social Security tax withholding for employee wages/salaries is reduced by two (2) percentage points from 6.2% to 4.2% (for wages up to $106,800). Please note that the reduction applies to the EMPLOYEES tax withholding only and not the Employers matching of the social security tax.
