Shop and garden with confidence when you visit a Colorado Certified Nursery Professional (CCNP)

Colorado Certified Nursery Professionals (CCNPs) are uniquely trained and qualified greenhouse and nursery personnel, who have the highest level of knowledge to help customers garden successfully. The CCNP program is designed to promote high quality standards and professionalism for the Colorado nursery industry and allows consumers to buy with confidence from trusted industry experts.

To be certified, nursery employees and owners are required to learn specialized knowledge about four product/service types: perennials, trees, shrubs, and landscape design. Their education concludes with a rigorous, half-day certification exam, on which they must score higher than 75 percent in each area.

CCNPs combine high-caliber training with quality experience. Before receiving certification, they are required to complete at least 2,000 hours of verifiable employment with a Colorado registered nursery, garden center, landscape contractor, or an allied industry.

To keep up to date with industry standards and new trends, recertification is required every three years. To be recertified, CCNPs must take continuing education classes or workshops, and complete further verifiable employment hours.
